Zach Ferguson of Fraser will continue his basketball career at Macomb Community College, Monarchs coach Jim Twigg said. Ferguson is a 6-foot, 175-pound guard. Ferguson plans to study business at MCC.

Keith Phillips of Warren-Mott will sign a basketball letter of intent with Macomb Community College on April 18, Marauders coach Jeff Olind said Tuesday. Phillips was an All-Macomb County player and helped Warren-Mott win the championship of the Macomb Area Conference White Division last season.

Amy Coffin of Stevenson has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Macomb Community College, Monarchs coach Holly Ritchie said. Coffin was a three-year varsity player at Stevenson. She holds Titans career records for serve attempts, serving points, blocks and kills.

Leah Hofmann of Dakota has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Macomb Community College, Monarchs coach Holly Ritchie said. Hofmann was a member of Dakota's 2012 Class A state championship team.

Amy Coffin of Stevenson will sign a letter of intent Dec. 7 to play volleyball at Macomb Community College, Stevenson athletic director Chad Hottle said.

William Bradley of Madison High School has signed a basketball letter of intent with Macomb Community College, Monarchs coach Jim Twigg said. Bradley averaged nine points and 10 assists per game as a senior at Madison, helping the Eagles win the Macomb Area Conference Blue Division championship. He also played quarterback for the Madison football team. Bradley is pictured with his father, Bill, and Twigg.

Amanda McAfee of Chippewa Valley has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Macomb Community College, Monarchs coach Holly Plieth said. McAfee plans to major in nursing. McAfee is pictured with her parents Monique and Vanzetti.

Joining Romeo High senior Melissa Staelgraeve when she signed were (from left) parents Ken and Linda Staelgraeve, as well as Macomb Community College softball coach Joe Cavataio.

Romeo High’s Melissa Staelgraeve has signed to play softball at Macomb Community College.

As a junior, Staelgraeve hit .446 with 37 hits and 23 RBI for coach Dave McIntyre’s Romeo Bulldogs. She received all county, all district and all conference honors.

A member of the National Honor Society, Staelgraeve plans on majoring in nursing.

Bryana Opalewski, a pitcher and infielder from Fraser, has signed a softball letter of intent with Macomb Community College. Opalewski, a three-year starter whose career batting average is over .400, plays second base and shortstop and pitches for Fraser. She has been named to league, county, district and region all-star teams. Opalewski plans to major in physical therapy at MCC, Fraser coach Matt Fishburn said.
