Okuly commits to Wayne State

A signature moment; Center Line High senior swimmer Andrea Okuly commits to Wayne State University. Joining her are high school Athletic Director Bob Blair (left) and Charlie Roddis, her coach and uncle.

Center Line senior swimmer Andrea Okuly signed a National Letter of Intent with Wayne State University.
She swam her first two years in high school at Huntington North in Huntington, Indiana, before moving to Michigan to live with her aunt and uncle. Charlie Roddis, the Center Line coach, is also her uncle.
In her two years at Center Line, Okuly broke four school records, two pool records (Anchor Bay and Lance Creuse North) and one county record (100 backstroke.)
She leaves Center Line as the most successful swimmer in program history; a two-time All-State performer in the 100 backstroke.  In her senior year, she finished third in the 100 backstroke and 10th in the 50 freestyle at the Division 3 state meet.
