Eisenhower lacrosse players on recruiting trail

Here is an update on some Eisenhower lacrosse players, according to Eagles coach Mark Fortune:
Defender Jake Zott, an all-state honorable mention in 2011, has had offers from several colleges at different levels, but is undecided.
Seniors Mike Meshinski (long-stick midfield) and Chris Baubie (midfield) also are considering offers.
Juniors Andrew Supanich and Ryan Sajkowski, and sophomore Shane Pettke, also hope to get looks from schools.
The Eagles' Chris Perry has signed with Detroit Mercy.

Three Eisenhower baseball players sign


Three Eisenhower baseball players, from left, infielder Dylin Eschenburg (Saginaw Valley State), shortstop/pitcher Austin Brodowsky (Oakland) and outfielder/pitcher Shane Cochran (Saginaw Valley State), signed letters of intent. They are pictured with coach Jason Gendreau.  Eschenburg, Brodowsky and Cochran helped the Eagles win a district championship in 2011.

Shelby Township's Avromov signs with Ohio school for baseball

Matt Avromov, a Shelby Township resident who attends Notre Dame Prep, has signed a baseball letter of intent with Lake Erie College, Brian McGee, coach at the Painesville, Ohio, school, said. Avromov is a 6-foot-3, 190-pound first baseman/outfielder who expects to earn a fourth varsity letter at Notre Dame Prep in the spring. He batted .443 with four home runs, 14 doubles and 21 stolen bases in 2011. Avromov was one of six recruits signed by Lake Erie College during the early signing period.

Cousino's Cleary signs baseball letter with Spring Arbor

Raymond Cleary of Cousino has signed a baseball letter of intent with Spring Arbor University.  The 6-foot Cleary is a right-handed batter who has played several positions. Cleary is pictured with Spring Arbor coach Sam Riggleman.

MCC adds three cross country runners

Macomb Community College has added three runners to its women's cross country program.
Lillia Rheinlander of Stevenson, Kathryn Ugorowski of Dakota and Lauren Zens of St. Clair have signed with the Monarchs, MCC coach Kim Renas said.
"I believe that all three runners will be major contributors to our team's success next season," Renas said.
MCC is a defending NJCAA regional champion. The Monarchs also won the Michigan Community College Athletic Association crown.

Eisenhower's Perry to play lacrosse at Detroit

Chris Perry of Eisenhower will continue his lacrosse career at the University of Detroit Mercy,  Chris Smith, defensive coordinator for the Ike football team, announced at the team's post-season dinner.
Perry played defensive back for the Eagles, football champions in the Macomb Area Conference Red Division.
Eisenhower also won district and regional championships in football in 2011.
A middie in lacrosse, the 6-foot, 185-pound Perry has two varsity seasons on his resume, having led the Eagles in scoring as a junior.  The right-hander took 75 percent of the team's faceoffs as a junior.
Perry scored 26 on the ACT, has a 3.62 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Warren-Mott's Ross to pitch for SVSU

Lucas Ross of Warren-Mott has signed a baseball letter of intent with Saginaw Valley State, his father, Randy, said. Ross is a pitcher for the Marauders.
Lucas Ross also played quarterback at Warren-Mott. He was named to the All-Macomb County First Team after helping the Marauders earn a Division 1 state playoff berth.
