Nebraska football hopes for strong final push

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska plans to put together a recruiting class of between 14 and 19 players on national letter-of-intent signing day Wednesday.
Rivals.com Midwest analyst Josh Helmholdt said Tuesday that he expects the Cornhuskers to close strong. Five of the Big Ten school's top targets are scheduled to announce their decisions in the morning.
Chief among the undecided players is five-star offensive tackle Andrus Peat of Tempe, Ariz. The 6-foot-7, 305-pound Peat also is considering Florida State, Stanford and Southern California.
It might help Nebraska that his brother, defensive tackle Todd Peat Jr., joined the Huskers last year.
The only Nebraskan set to sign with the Huskers is tight end Sam Cotton out of Lincoln Southeast. He's the son of offensive line coach Barney Cotton.
